The West and Dry art gallery was one of the more traditional, formal works of art we saw that night. Though still contemporary, it was enjoyable nonetheless to see a traditional paint-on-canvas works of art, out of all the abstract installations, which was ironic in itself.
Even the artist notes that much of contemporary art tends to carry a darker theme while she attempts to contradict the “norm” by showcasing her interpretation of pure love. Each work used the same colour palette, warm, earthy tones, to symbolize love and its energy.

Yeah! :D i know what you mean.
The gold paint illicited the warmth the artist was trying to bring about from her paintings. I also liked the paintings where she had symbolised spirutuality and the human soul becoming one through the means of earth as the medium. The music, could have been better...i felt the music was too fast paced for the theme of the paintings. Nonetheless, it helped with the mood and eased the viewers in.
I agree, I thought the music was a little bit quirky for the setting. Perhaps some type of ambiant genre would have been better but, the fact that there was entertainment showed nevertheless that the artist did pay attention to the details of her exhibhit.
